PACKAGING
Packaging is my favorite design problem. Consumers often choose or reject products based simply on their appearance. A well-designed package may even be used and loved by the consumer, long after the product is gone.
Philosophy – The Cookbook
The Cookbook, by Philosophy, is a gift set of 8, food-scented,
3-in-1 shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The blue gingham background is a reference
to the Betty Crocker cookbooks and simpler times.
Inferno One Hot Sauce
Label design for Inferno One hot sauce. Inferno One was the call-sign for the creator's Marine Corps rifle squad. The sauce is made with Ghost peppers, one of the hottest in the world.
KRB Music – New Age CD Collection
This is part of a series of CD covers for a collection of new age music.
I used the spheres in the design to signify its order in the collection.
The images are all Photoshop collages
Natural Born Oils
A flexible label design for Natural Born Oils,
which allowed for the addition of different types of oils, as the product line expanded.
The addition of bright colors helps distinguish one product from the next.
Recherche – Toffee
This is a package design for handcrafted gourmet toffee made the old fashioned way.
I used old Sanborn fire insurance maps as inspiration for the beautiful typography.
Ithaca Beer Co. – Pale Ale 6-Pack
This 6-pack design for Ithaca Beer Co. needed to be flexible enough to distinguish 4 different types of beer, while maintaining a cohesive image for the brand. A lake image is used as background texture and to identify the regional aspect of the brand.
Pagliotti – Olive Oil
The client wanted a feeling of quality, tradition, and heritage, with a Mediterranean touch.
This package needed to distinguish itself from other brands sold in grocery stores.
The color and design were influenced by late 1800s - early 1900s packaging.
